Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information The Salty Rose (32 Kailua Way, Dillon Beach, CA) collects when you visit this website or book a stay, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only.
Information We Collect
When you request a booking, we collect the information you provide in the booking form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), number of guests, and requested dates. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout page — we never see or store your full card number.
When you use the Contact Us form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide, so we can respond to your inquiry.
We do not currently use analytics, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels on this site, so we do not collect information about your browsing activity over time or across other websites.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to process and confirm your reservation, communicate with you about your stay (including sending your check-in door code and a booking confirmation), respond to questions submitted through the Contact Us form, and maintain records for our own accounting, tax, and legal purposes.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing to third parties.
How We Share Your Information
We share information with a small number of service providers who help us run this site and process bookings, and only to the extent needed for them to provide that service:
- Stripe — processes your payment. Stripe receives your payment details directly and securely — we never see your full card number.
- Supabase — securely stores booking and property information in our database.
- Resend — delivers booking confirmation emails and Contact Us messages on our behalf.
- Cloudflare (Turnstile) — helps verify that Contact Us form submissions are from real people, not automated bots.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
This site uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies — specifically, a login session cookie used only to keep the property owners signed in to the password-protected Owner Portal (/admin). Guests browsing or booking the site do not have anything stored via cookies for tracking purposes.
The Cloudflare Turnstile widget on the Contact Us page may use its own technical signals to verify you're not a bot, as described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because this site does not track visitors' activity across other websites or over time, we do not currently respond differently to DNT signals — there is no such tracking to turn off. If that changes (for example, if we add site analytics in the future), we will update this policy to describe how we respond to DNT signals at that time.
Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all traffic to this site, database access controls that restrict who can read guest information, and secure, PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We keep booking records for as long as reasonably necessary for guest services, our own business records, accounting, and tax purposes, and to comply with legal obligations. Contact Us messages are retained only as long as needed to respond to and resolve your inquiry.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Accessing, Correcting, or Deleting Your Information
If you'd like to review, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we have about you, contact us using the information below and we'll be happy to help. Please note that we may need to retain certain booking records as required for tax, accounting, or legal purposes even after a deletion request.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our practices change. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, please reach out through our Contact page.
